WOMEN AND ATHLETICS.

MEDICAL OPINION UNFAVOURABLE. At the Annual meeting of the N.Z. Amateur Athletic Association, held at Wellington, last night, the question was raised whether track competition was harmful to ladies, and whether ladies’ events should be included in the championships programme. The reply was that while favouring all reasonable athletic exercise for women, the B.M.A. was of opinion that competition by them was harmful.
