ACCIDENT TO MOTOR CYCLIST.
COLLIDES WITH MOTOR LOREV Shortly before ft o’clock last cv(•ning a (--ollision took place nonr the l)etHl of (lie road where Russell St. junctions with tin’ lliiiiitangi road, between a motor cycle and motor lorry, resulting in serious injuries to the rider of the motor evele, a \oung man named Thomas Henry ■Crowe, an employee of the Relianoe ‘heese Factory at Rangiotu. The cyclist and motor lorry were going' • n opposite directions and it is thought that in attempting- In pass tin l lorry, the motor cycle skmded on some loose metal and headed straight on to the lorry. Crowe caught the radiator and mud guard of the torrv and then fell and it is thought the wheel of the lorry passed over him. The motor cycle was beneath the lorry when it pulled up. Medical assistance was at once summoned and the .extent of the injuries as far as could he ascertain tu. were a strained bank and iniary to a rib with minor abrasions. The unfortunate young man was removed to the hospital where lie will undergo an X-ray examination today. The mo lor cycle was badly damaged. • The young man never lost consciousness and was able to discuss the accident. He is a member pf the Fox ton Soccer Club and prior to leaving for home had tea with TVTr and Mrs Win Stanley. Upon enquiry at the hospital we are informed that no serious complications are anticipated.
