QUEEN ALEXANDRA'S BAND
TO VISIT PONTON AT WEEKEND. SACRED CONCERT ON SUNDAY NIGHT. The Queen Alexandra’s 2nd Regimental Band, from'Wanganui,, will visit Fox ton for the week-end. On Saturday at 2 o'clock 1-he Band will parade through Main St. and proceed to Easton Park to enliven the Eire .Brigade Queen Carnival's sports meeting, where the Band will be welcomed by the Mayor, ihe hand will also give an exhibition of a iuililarv quick-slop manoeuvre, as done in band championship contests. 11l tin evening there, will lie a procession through ihe Main St. to precede a picture programme and eoncert in the Royal Theatre. On Sunday arrangements are being made foi a river excursion and on Sunda v evening, in the Town Ilall, a grand sacred concert will he gi\en, when the band will render «i number ot' selections, interspersed with \ocul items. This band, which numbers ;i(i performers, is one ot the premier hands of New Zealand and is the proud possessor of over 100 trophies (some of which will be, on view in Mr Bolders window). The conductor is Mr G. Buckley, an exAustralasian champion eometist, Those who have consented to billet the bandsmen are requested to call at the Carnival Office at 4 p.m. on Saturday. ...
