LEGISLATIVE BILL BECOMES LAW.
Tn the House on Tuesday, Mr W. F. 'Massey moved the second reading of the Legislative Amendment Bill No. 2, which, he said, contained llnve. new amendments, all desired by the Department. The first amendment was compulsory enrolment, which aimed at placing the responsibility on the electors themselves. Next was the system of absent voters permits. It was proposed that I lie term of residence should he extended from one month to three months. The second reading was agreed (o and the Bill was committed forthwith in committee and after discussion, was passed.
