BEACH NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent) BEACH TENNIS CLUB FORMED.

A meeting of Beach residents was held in the Beach hall supper-room one night this week,To consider the proposition of forming a Tennis Club. Air Cliristophcrson was voted to the chair and those present were: Alcssks J. AEerriU, W. Hartley, S. Hartley, R.. Chnffey, R-. Tuavoa and .Miss Walls and Mrs Iluaroa.

It was decided that, a club lie formed, to be known as the Beach Tennis Club. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—

Patron: Mr C. S. Larsen; Presided!! : Air M. E. Perroau; Vice-pre-sident : Air W. A. Alsop; Secretary ami Treasurer. Mr R. Tuavoa. SUBSCRIPTION.

The subscription was fixed as follows: Gents 7/6, ladies 5/-. It was decided that lion, members subs, bo fixed at gents 5/-, ladies 2/0.

It. was decided to admit juvenih members to the club at 2/6. OPENING DAY.

.It was decided that members provide iheir own raequets and tennis bails. Tito courts were thrown open for play to-day and the official opening- day was fixed for Saturday, November Bth, at 2 p.m.

Decided to extern! an invitation to the Foxton Tennis Flub to be present on ihe opening day. .Decided to approach the Beach Improvement Commitiec with a view to the Beach Tennis Club taking over the courts and being responsible for their np-kcep.

In ilie event of procuring the courts from the Beach Improvement Society, it was decided ilial a working bee be formed to mend fences and cut ihe grass round the outside of the courts at the earliest opportunity.

A hearty vote of thanks to the chan' concluded the meeting.
