GIRL WITNESS DISAPPEARS.

Auckland, October 30. The mysterious disappearance of a girl, Ethel May Lane, aged 154 years, from the Supreme Court buildings on Wednesday morning, is causing great concern to her relatives. The girl was to have been an important witness in a criminal trial from Wailii, but she did not have to give evidence, as the accused pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to P2 months’ reformative, and on leaving the dock is staled to have called out to (lie girl, “Goodbye Ethel!” She was considerably affected, and. became somewhat hysterical. After leaving the court, room the girl was seen by her brother to go into the- ladies’ waiting room and since then all trace of her lias been lost.
