RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.

According to a return laid on the table of the House of Representatives, 1j777 accidents occurred to railway employees last year, as compared 1,448 in 1923. Of those reported last year, 10 were ■fatal, 71 serious and 1,69fi minor. There were 959 accidents in 1922, and 987 in 1921. in a memorandum attached to the return, the General Manager states that the increase in 1923 and 1924 over previous years was due to . the fact that there had grown an increasing tendency amoug employees to report all injuries, however slight, as a precautionary measure in connection with the Workers’ Compensation Act, should complications set in later.
