FOXTON PLUNKET SOCIETY.
•A meeting of the Foxton Plunked. Society was held on Monday afternoon. Present : Mesdames E. Robinson | president). Pearson, AustinJohnslon, !•’. Proctor, Rowley, A. Ross. Hynes and Me Murray (secretary'). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames McDonald, Hcasman, Chrystall, Baker and Owen. A motion of sympathy was passeft to Mrs Ifeasmau, a member of the committee, and family, in their recent bereavement.
The Dunedin branch wrote regarding the sending of a copy of “Our Babies" column. The secretary reported that the editor of the "Herald” had agreed to publish half a column weekly. The new Jacob baby scales had come to hand and had been in .satisfactory use for the past two weeks. The secretary stated that, owing to Levin requiring two days' attendance from the nurse, instead of one, it had been found necessary to have a change at Foxton. Nurse Hughes, of Palmerston N., replacing Nurse Ogden. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to the latter. Accounts amounting to £2 13/v. ere passed for payment. The- Nurse’s report for the month showed four visits to Foxton; to hemes 19, adults to office 29, babies .28, new eases 10.
A vote of thanks was accorded Miss Belle Pearson for the loan of her bicycle for the use of the nurse. Mrs Austin-. Johnston offered the temporary use of a bicycle for the Nurse’s convenience.
Mrs A. Ross was appointed ilow or steward for the month, and Mesdames Austin-Johuston and Hynes a visiting committee. Collection box 1/-.
