A NEW COMET.

The Government Astronomer has been informed by the International Comet Bureau of the .discovery- by Dr. Finsler, of Berlin, of a comet now in the eighth magnitude and visible in small telescopes. The position at present is 14 hours 20 minutes right ascension, five degiees seven minutes north declination. It sets at 7.20 p.m. but the position is improving daily, the ascension increasing eight minutes daily and the declination decreasing two degrees daily. It has not yet been seen in New Zealand.
