PE ARCH PROVES FRUITLESS.. Invercargill, Last Night. The mysterious disappearance of Alfred Croft, a farmer, single, aged j !. who occupies a hush section at Chaslaiuls, is exciting deep interest. He has not been seen since July 16, when he parted from a neighbour. Food on the table in his hut was left undisturbed, but an axe is missing. Air Croft is known to have drawn money from the bank. Seaeh parties have sco.ured the district fruitlessly and it is feared Mr Croft has met a tragic end.
