RECENT WEDDING FATALITY.

INQUIRY OPENED. Wellington, Last Night. An inquiry into the accident near ;,St. John’s Church, in which Miss Martha Seatciiai'd was killed and a number of persons injured, through a motor ear conveying a wedding party getting' ouL of control, was opened to-day. it was stated that the car which caused her death seemed to bounce forward like a kangaroo, it mouiiLed the footpath and ran down the incline for about thirty yards. The bridegroom’s father said when the car got on the path, he put I,it, shoulder to it in an attempt to get it back in the gutter. The car moved forward, cannoned on to a concrete wall, rebounded, straightened up and went like a shot out of a gun down the footpath, scattering people in all directions. He heard the engine started and the ear seemed to bounce away from the driver.
