ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.
CHINESE DEFEAT NAPIER. Napier, Last Night. The Chinese University Students Association football team gained their first victory in the Dominion I his afternoon, when on McLean Park they defeated the Hawke’s Bay representatives by two goals to nil. The day was an ideal one for spectators and players alike, bright sunshine tending to take the keenness out of the light breeze that blew down-field. The ground was in excellent condition, and suited the visitors. The attendance was 5000. /
The visitors were very popular with the crowd and on returning to the dressing room received an enthusiastic reception.
