COMPENSATION FOR INJURIES. Mr P. Fraser, M.P., presented in I lie House of Representatives yesterday afternoon a petition from Sydney Tovey, Taranaki St., Wellington, praying for £3OOO compensation for neglect in treatment of injuries to his hack sustained while doing physical drill on lI.M. Transport I'limaroa in August lOlti and while packing ammunition at Pnss(•hendalc. lie was returned to New Zealand permanently until in October 1918, and immediately discharged, instead of receiving further treatment as recommended. Owing to the injury to his hack he was, he stated, unable to follow his previous occupation of a storeman and lie and his wife and family could not live on his present pension of £1 per week.
