SOCIAL AND PRESENTATION.
\ social and presentation was held in the Methodist schoolroom on Thursday evening to afford the many friends of Air and Mrs and Miss Oxley an opportunity of saying good-bye to them before leaving Foxton to settle in Palmerston N. Parlour games were indulged in and solos were rendered by Misses Chalk, Hoffman, and Seadden. The wits of a number of those present were exercised in an nttcmpl to name some forty plants, the leaves of which were pinned lo the walls of the building. Miss Hoffman and Mrs' Oxlcv were the most successful loea ters and tied for first place. The hitler hole ultimately won the comj petition. A hountefnl supper was | provided l>\ the Ladies’ Guild. oi | which Mrs and Miss Oxley have • been members. During the evening | Air and Air- Oxley were presented I with a handsome cake ,-tand. Tit ma- . kin-j- the presentation on behalf of . the church. Rev. S. Peryman made ! reference ;o the many activities of | the departing guests mid expressed j (he wishes of nil that their future ; might he bright. In replying Air Ox- |!< returned thanks f.,r the gift and ! voiced the wish that their Foxton | friends should visit them in Palmerston North where'they would lip heartily welcome. Mr and Airs Oxley leave Foxton next week for Palmerston North, where they will take up their residence.
