BAND CARNIVAL

Although no definite date has yet been fixed for the Band carnival ihe preliminary arrangements are going forward. Various committees arc being set up to select the queen candidates. AA'hen these have been selected a monster concert will be held at which they will be introduced and their claims to support extolled. A feature of the concert will be*selections by an orchestra of upwards of 40 instrumentalists. under the conduetorship of Miss Healey, a talented musician, whose orchestra and services wen- in great demand throughout Hawke's Bay prior to her departure. Ali-s Healey's ability as a coudiicrivs- is exemplified by the jn-e----'cnt efficiency of' the orchestra. Mr Holder, the organiser, is also endeavouring to combine a Foxton shopping week in conjunction with the carnival.
