ARAHURA STRIKES BAD WEATHER.

Napier, May 19.

The Arahura left .Napier for Uisborue on Saturday morning and struck'''the full force of the storm raging on the coast. The vessel battled against the gale for over 24 liours, but found the port of Gisborne unworkable, and Anally returned, to .Napier this morning with her coal supplies exhausted. The passengers underwent a trying time while the ship was buiieted by the heavy seas. No damage is reported. The vsesel leaves again to-night. Other shipping at Napier was disorganised and the large vessels, Pi- _ uko ( and City, of Birmingham, were put to sea to ride out the gale. Work was resumed on the waterfront this . morning.
