ANNUAL MEETING. The fifth annual meeting of the above was held in All Saints’ schoolroom yesterday afternoon. There was a fair attendance. The Rev. W. H. Walton presided. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report was read as follows: — “The committee have pleasure in presenting this, the fifth annual report. At the last annual meeting it was decided to combine the advisory board with the ordinary committee of the society. The Rev. W. H. Walton and Ensign Huston were appointed an investigation committee. This committee has done excellent work, and has been of great help to the society in the work of relieving distress. During the year Mr and Mrs Ensign Huston were transferred to Wellington, and we wish to place on record our appreciation of their great help to the society during their stay in Foxtom Twenty-one families have received assistance, 50 parcels of clothing, boots, bedding, etc., have • been supplied. The maternity lending bag has been useful, but some of the linen is showing signs of wear, and will have to be renewed. Our very best thanks are due to the legatees of the Walter Bock estate for their very handsome donation of £75 to the funds of the society. We feel that in making this donation the Legatees are carrying out what would have been the wishes of Mrs and Mr Walter Bock had they had the opportunity of doing so themselves, and the spirit in which this gift was made is to be appreciated. We have to again thank Mr A. N. Smith for allowing us to use his premises as a receiving and distributing depot; All Saints’ vestry for free use of school-room; the local drapers for liberal discounts; Mr Roore Rangilieuea for auditing the books; the Press, Mi' J. Thompson for carting, and all donors of cash, parcels of clothing, etc.”
The balance-sheet disclosed receipts totalling £B4 15/1 (including £75 from the beneficiaries of the Walter Bock Estate) and expenses £4 6/8, leaving a credit balance of £BO 8/5.
