“RINGING-IN” TRIAL.

COUNSEL’S VOICE GIVES OUT. Christchurch, Last Night. In the “ringing-in” case the remaining evidence dealt chiefly with the impounding of “All Smoke” and the nominating of “Wild Moa” at Otahuhu without the authority of the owner. No witnesses were called for the defence. Air Hanlon addressed the jury on behalf of Gapes and' Williamson, confining himself chiefly to the veracity of several witnesses and the non-production by the Crown of the stipendiary stewards on duty at Otahuhu in support of its case. Mr Thomas was addressing the jury on behalf of Tucker when his voicel gave out and the Court adjourned till to-morrow.
