ANOTHER REMAND. Wellington, Last Night. Joseph Lames, aged hi, who was accused of Uie murder of Waiter -Juiin W hurls, was again.'before tfie Uourl to-day-The police asked for a further remand as they would not be able to go oil with the case until the Government bacteriologists report was to Hand. Ah (Stevenson, who is defending Barnes, said tins appeared rather indefinite, in the Cooper case the report took two months to obtain. Tiie police should nut wait until a considerable tune elapses before going on with tne case. The only ligfil me bacteriologist’s evidence cun throw is wnetirer certain blood stains are Iranian or other blood.
Chief Detective Kemp said he hoped the report would be ready in a fortnight. The Magistrate adjourned the case for a week.
