\ Auckland, Yesterday. At the Police Court Waller Raymond Fitton charged with having laid totnlisator odds was flned £2O on each nf two charges, the other charges being withdrawn. The police offered no evidence on a further charge of booknmking. The case was heard last week, Mr Povntou, S.M., reserving liis decision. Today, lie said the Court could nol accept the. contention of the defence that as the constable with whom the bets were made did not regard tern as bona fide, no conviction could follow. .
