ELECTRIC POWER
In conversation with the Horowhotma Bower Board inspector, Air Jack, we were informed that-up to date, 530 consumers had signed up during a six mouth's canvass in fhe northern end of the 'district. The canvass, was now proceeding in the Levin borough and district and would then continue south. Air Jack said the canvass so far was very satisfactory.
The engineers, whose tender for installations had been accepted by the Board for Shannon and Foxton groups, have completed Shannon borough and will commence the Foxton installations Ibis week. In connection with electric light, for the seaside, Afr .Jack said there was every likelihood of the current being supplied there. He stated that there was no suggestion of removing the poles which had been deposited on the line of* route. The canvass had been disappointing by rea:Soniaif tin* fact that a majority of tin* property-owners lived outside the district and it was difficult to gel into personal touch with them, Lut this would he attended to in due course.
