PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED.

We have to acknowledge from Mr. IT. E. Holland. M.P., Parliamentary leader of the N.Z. Labour Partv. a pamphlet entitled: “Mr Massey V Liberal Supporters: A record nf Some of the Alain Divisions in Parliament.” In the foreword the :iut hnr suvs :

“The Liberal Party are recognised a> the Official Opposition in the New Zealand Parlinm at. It is genet ally expected that the Opposition will lve found voting against- the Government. particularly on molions affecting the- life of the ffoveriimeot. But the N.Z. Liberal Party have an altogether different conception of what- the duties of an Opposition amount to, and so, ever since tiie advent of Labour into the House as a distinct party, it. will he found llial the Liberals have voted far more often for the Government on important issues than against them. In the analysis which follows, I have iaken the most important divisions forced by the Labour Parl\ (and a lew o| the divisions called for by the Liberals) commencing with a 1912 division affecting the imprisoned Waihi miner.- and concluding with the end of the second session of 1923. The voting is these divisions establishes beyond doubt the fact, repeatedly insisted upon by the Labour Party that there is only an imaginary hue of demarcation between the Liberals and the Reformers, and that their proper place is in the same camp.”
