FERGIE—RUMBLE,

A very pretty and dainty wedding was solemnised at Palmerston N. on Wednesday, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, when Hola Irene, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. S. Rumble, of Palmerston North, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to John William, eldest son of Mr and Mrs .1. Fergie, Norton Mains, Southland. The service was fully choral and the church was tastefully decorated. The bride looked charming in a frock of ivory brocaded satin, beautifully draped with silver trimming’s with train falling gracefully from drape. She wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms and carried a dainty shower bouquet of white asters and houvardia. Little Inez Boland, of Wellington, in a pretty little frock of frilled net over apricot taffeta, attended as flower girl. The bridesmaids, Misses Mavis and Nancy Rowling, both nieces of the bride, wore dainty frocks of blue shot corded taffeta, and apricot taffeta with fancy bandeaux to match. They also carried bouquets of pink belladonna lilies, and asparagus. Mr Norman Martin carried out the duties of best man, while Mr Basil Marsaek acted as groomsman. The happy couple subsequently left for an extended tour of the South Island, the bride travelling in a nigger brown costume with hat to match

Mr Fergie was the recipient of a set of carvers and some dainty Doulton ware from the Palmerston North railway staff. The Foxton friends of Mr Fergie who for a time was acting stationmaster. will join in wishing him and his bride health and prosperity.
