FOOTBALL.
AWAHOU JUNIORS CLUB.
A meeting enlivened with the object of forming a junior football club was held in Bryant’s rooms on Saturday evening, presided over by Mr E. Bryant. On the motion of Mr T. Tuna seconded by Mr F. Robinson, it was decided that a club be formed to he called the Awahou .Junior Fon (ball Club. The following officers were elected. Patron: Mr Geo. Coley, president, Mr Tawbai; vice-presidents: Messrs W. A pariama, K. Rangihcuea, F. Spiers, Tuna Roore, T. Royal and P. McGregor; secretary, E. Robinson; treasurer, Mr Parkin; delegate to Union, F. Robinson; committee, the coach, captain and Messrs D. Phillips, M. McGegor, AV. Harrison, and 11. McGregor; coach, F. Robinson. The committee was authorised to draw up rules. The subscription was lixed at < r >/-, plus insurance, nonplaying members 2/6. The coach, captain and Air .1. Tuna were elected a selection committee. The colours decided on were black jersey with six inch maroon band. Air F. Robinson donated a gold medal for the best “tackier” in the team and Air C. AlcGregor presented a canoe as a mascot. The usual compliment to the chair concluded an enthusiastic meeting.
The object of forming the club is to perpetuate the old Awahou Club by-gone championship winners, who held the Austin Banner which has now been presented for school competitions. The old Awahou players are requested to rally round the new junior oil'-spring of the old club.
