— TO BE USED AS FOOTBALL GROUND.

Ar last night’s Borough Council meeting an application was read from the Horowhenua Rugby Union, for permission to use Easton Park for football during the coming season.

li was decided that the Union be granted the use of the ground at the usual charge of 15 per cent, of gate money for the coming season. It was also decided that a Council employee collect the percentage on the days of the matches. It. was decided that in the opinion of the Council, the boxthorn planted in Easton Park will become a .-ouive of annoyance and that the Beautifying Society be respectfully asked to have all such plants removed and more suitable shrubs planted in lieu thereof.
