The Wanganui Jockey Club’s autumn meeting opened on Thursday before a good attendance. The totalisator handled £31,848 10/-, as compared with £34,741 10/- for the first day last year. Results: — Maiden Race: —Roburite 1, Rangimoana 2, Koauau 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1.4. Stewards’ Handicap:— Meeting and Snatcher (dead heat) 1, Kinsem 3. Three placed horses finished in a bunch. Time 1.49 1-5. Westmere Hurdles. —Eerie 1 Sling Camp 2, Militaire 3. Won by three lengths. Time 3.16 3-5. Victory Welter. —Para 1, Vindictive 2, Clandhu, 3. Won by one and a-half lengths. Time 1.58 3-5. Wangamji Cup-V-Cold Steel 1, Muraahi 2, Sunart 3. Won by twenty lengths. Time 3.0 3-5. Juvenile Handicap.—Dangle 1, Solferange 2, Lake Urn 3. Won by two lengths. Time 1.3. I'etre Hack Handicap.—Te Kawa 1. Orchid 2, Panim 3. Won by half a length. Time 1.15 2-5.
Plying Handicap.—Tuka 1, Mireusonta 2, Rational 3. Won by a neck Time 1.14 2-5.
