BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the above was held on Thursday evening, presided over by the president, MV AT. Perreau. It was decided to hold over the completion of the path at Ihakara Garden until the general meeting in March. Prices for this work had been obtained, and the work authorised within a certain limit.
It was decided that two seats be placed on the lawn in front of All Saints’ Church, and two on the lawn in front of the Presbyterian Church.
Mr Brittain, of Auckland, submitted photographs and prices for equipment- of children's playground. This subject was discussed at length, and it was decided to convene a public meeting to discuss the proposal, and to decide upon an effort to raise money ’for same. Tn Ibis connection it was decided to enlist the practical sympathy of the Borough Council, Chamber of Commerce, fljetjuilers’ Association, School Committee and other institutions.
other routine business was transacted, and the meeting rose with the usual compliment to the chair.
