LEVIN SWIMMING CARNIVAL

MANAWATU RECORD BROKEN BY W. HARRISON.

At the Levin Swimming Club’s carnival yesterday, W. Harrison, a member of the Foxfon Swimmiug Club, succeeded in establishing a new Manawatu record in the 100 yards championship, covering the distance in 67 1-6 seconds, the previoiis record being by V. Edwards, of Palmcrsum N., 69 3-5 seconds. Harrison is to be congratulated upon obtaining this honour, which not only reflects very creditably upon his own aquatic abilities, but aLo stands as an achievement to the credit of his Club. Foxton Club was successful in .-ecuring four wins and two seconds throughout the programme, A. Fuller being placed ih-st in the 50 yards handicap and second in the 100 yards; Foxton team secured second place in the Inlying Squadron (IC. Ilirini, E. Robinson, A Fuller, W. Harrison) : and in the boys’ events, W. Hirini was first hi the Neat Header, and first in the 50 yards for hoys under 15.
