NOVEMBER WORKING
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of November was 433,000 c.ft., which with the amount in the holder on November Ist., 14,800 ft., made a total of 448,400 ft. During the month, 371900 ft. was used by consumers, 19000 ft. in street lamps, 24,000 ft. at the works, and there was 15,200 ft. in the holder on December Ist., making a total of 430,100 ft. and leaving 18,300 ft., representing 4.8 per cent., unaccounted for. Forty tons of coal were carbonised during tiie month yielding 10840 c.ft. to the toll.
The earnings for the month totalled £282 15/11 and were made up as follows: —Gas sales (lighting) £ll9 15/5, heat and power £lO7 3s KM, coke sales £27 15/10, tar sales 17/-, Citings £23 9/2, services 7s tid, labour fittings 2/6, miscellaneous £3 4/8. The expenditure for the month totalled £253 3.8/2 and was as follows: —Coal £IOO 18/2, salaries and wages £54 1/7, fittings £l4 3/8, stores £6 8/ 8, printing and advertising £9 12. 8, engine repairs 18/6, cartage and freight £1 2/9, tools £4 3/-, working expenses 8/9, sundries £2 8/9, interest and sinking fund £59 11/8.
