GORE COMPENSATION CASE

WIDOW AWARDED £450. The compensation case, Elsie Marie Gore, widow, Foxton, against W. Williamson and Company, of Wellington, contractors, arising out of the death by accident of John Gore in the course of his employment by the defendants in the erection of the Dp Luxe Theatre on 2nd October, was announced at the Arbitration Court yesterday as settled by' agreement between counsel. No defence was filed and the amount agreed upon as compensation was £450 with £l6 5/6 for the funeral expenses of the deceased. The question of costs was left for counsel to arrange. The Court entered judgment by consent on the lines indicated. Mr P. J. O’Regan appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr P. H. Putnam for the defendant.
