TENNIS NOTES.
An interesting Yankee tournament was held at the local tennis courts on Saturday. Five games of twenty points each were played, the prizes being a pair of tennis balls for the lady and gentleman scoring the most points. The winning players were Miss B. Speirs and Mr C. Procter. The following were the scores: —Misses Speirs 96, E. Owen 95, P. MeMurray 93, Miss Beard 90, Mesdames Eruera and MeMurray 90, Miss Williams 82, Mrs C. Renata 81, Misses R. PeiTeau 79, B. Pearson 77, Fahy 72, J. MeMurray 70. Messrs C. Procter and D. MeMtirray 100, N. Ross 98, Eruera 84, Ilowe 83, A. Fuller 82, W. Hynes 50. During the past week the following ladder matches have been played: — A. Fuller v. Dr Wyllie (fd'rfaii"* R. Rangiheuea 50 v. W. Hynes 45; G. Perreau 50 v. W. Howe 47; N. Ross 50 v. T. Eruera 28; Mrs McMnrray 40 v. Mrs Ersera 30; Misses .J. MeMurray 40 v. B. Pearson 33; M. Fahy 40 v. A. Williams 28; C. Beard 40 v. E. Owen 32.
