ANGLICAN COMMUNITY FAIR

OPENED Tins AFTERNOON

The Anglican Community Fair was officially opened this afternoon by the Rev. \Y. IT. Walton. An apology for absence from the opening was received from Air J. Linklator, M.P., who was unavoidably unable to be present to open the Fair. The following are the Stall holders:—

Cake Stall: Alesdames John RobiiiMin, Trueman, Misses Grace and Eileen Robinson and Aliss Campbell (Mouion); Guild Stall: Mesdames Walton, Christie, and W. Robinson; Sweet. Stall: Alesdames W. T. Jewell and W. E. Barber and Alisses Barber, Austin and Owen; Bran tub Misses Elsie Barber and Margaret Poole; fancy stall: Alesdames F. Robinson and Pearson and Aliss Robinson. Tug-of-war official: Mr W. Nye; competitions official: Air W. E. Barber; side shows: Mr W. T Jewell; shooting gallery: Dr. Rowley. The stalls are arranged in novel order, being a representation of Alain St, The various business premises of the town (the Main Street being called “Easy Street” —where il is easy to spend your money) are represented, the names being contained in burlesque, and Ihakara Gardens provided with ample shady trees, where patrons can enjoy a quiet (?) rest, completes the setting. Twelve teams have so far entered for the tug-of-war.

Admittance to the Fair will be free this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening.
