COMBINED CHURCH MISSION.
The concluding sendee in connection with the combined church evangelistic mission, conducted by Mr Mains, was held in the Town Hall on Sunday evening. There record attendance, extra seating downstairs being required to meet the demand. The song sendee was much appreciated and heartily participated in by the congregation. In making the announcements, the Rev. F. McDonald said a request had been banded in for a continuation of a combined Sunday evening sendee, after church. He said the proposal was a good one and he saw no reason why it should not lie carried out. Air McDonald then took ike opportunity of conveying to Mr Alains on behalf of the mission committee, its deep appreciation of his services and the blessings, under God, which had accompanied the mission. Air Alains, in briefly acknwledging the expression of appreciation, said if any blessing had been vouchsafed thanks was due to God. He hoped that the suggested combined Sunday night services would he continued. There was no reason why they should not as Foxton possessed men of equal, if not more, ability than himself, to carry on such evangelistic work. He hoped to hear in the future of the continued success of the work which he had commenced. Air Alains’ address was, perhaps, the most impressive and compelling of the series. He spoke from the text: “The Holy Ghost said to-day if you Avill hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” He dealt forcibly with the evil of procrastination and its penalty.
We are asked to announce that a combined service will be held in the Toavii Hall next Sunday e\ T ening at 8 p.m. The address will be given by the Rev. F. AlcDonald.
