EXHIBITION OF ROSE BLOOMS.
SOME AIAGNIFICENT SPECIMENS. On Saturday the C. AI. Ross Coy. held their annual rose show. So numerous Avere the exhibits sent in that the firm’s island Avindow was much too small to display the blooms to adA'antage and quite a number had to be exhibited in an adjoining window. The exhibits numbered 80 as compared wtili 45 the previous year. The rose gaining (he biggest number of votes, a “Golden Emblem,” sent in by Master Erie Healey, was certainly a magnificient specimen, with excellent foliage. The second prize went to Mrs Frances and the third to Airs S. Wright. On the whole, the blooms - were a very fine lot and each exhibits, had a quota of admirers. the day and evening eroAvds viewed the lovely blooms. The firm is to be commended on their enterprise which serves a double purpose as it advertises the forthcoming shoAV and instils in residents a love of flowers.
