FOXTON UNITED SPORTS ASSOCIATION.

PROGRAMME APPROVED. PRIZE MONEY AGGREGATES £2OO. A committee meeting of tbe above was held last night, presided over by Mr W. T. Jewell. There were also present: Messrs McMurray, Thomson, Hutchins, Smith, Christie, Davidson, W. E. Barber, Neylon, Robinson, Pearson, Perreau and the secretary (Air Ogilvy). The secretary reported affiliation with the N.Z. Athletic and Cycling Association. The Racing Club wrote granting the use of the racecourse for the meeting in February.—Resolved to write and thank the club for its generous offer. The Otaki Chamber of Cemmerce wrote requesting the Association’s co-operation in a request to the Horowhenna Rugby Union that representative football matches he more equally distributed in the centres. —Resolved to support the Otaki Chamber of Commerce’s request, and to write to the Horowhenua Rugby Union to this effect. The secretary reported that he had made application to have the Association incorporated. The programme committees then submitted their reports which were discussed and adopted, the prizemoney aggregating. £2OO. Finance; advertising and canvassing committees were appointed. The programme will consist of the following:— Horse events: —Aggregate prizes £52 10/-; Maiden hunters, open pony leaping, open hunters, novelty trot, hunters’ consolation, walk and trot, novelty pony race, hunters’ steeplechase, thread-the-needle, turning competitions. Motor events (aggregate prizes £4B 10/-)—Decorated car, decorated cycle, cycle race (open) miles, do., 3 miles, motor cycle races, 5 miles and 7 miles. Chopping:—(aggregate prizes £22 15/-) —12 inch chop, 15 inch do., underhand; 15 inch standing do., 12 inch sawing double handling, 12 inch do., single handling. . Pedestrian (aggregate prizes £59 10/-). Children’s events, aggregate prizes £5.
