PUBLIC-LIBRARY AND SWIMMING BATHS.
CR. ROSS SUGGESTS A'SCHEME. ■We have been shown by Cr. Alex. Ross, a sketch plan of a combined scheme'for public reading-room, lib-rary,-rest-room and baths buildings vriiii public conveniences and dressing rooms /and caretaker’s rooms, on Easton Park. . • : The building would be situated about a chain from the main entrance and flanked oh either side' by gardens and lawns with a tenfoot right-of-way through' the centre' of the building, giving access to the grounds and baths. The swimming bath would be immediately at the rear of the building on', the south side and in cjose proximity to the dressing conveniences. T-he back portion of the-building would contain a balcony which would overlook the baths and grounds. Cr. Ross said that, his suggested plan may meet' with general approval as it comprehends both proposals under one head. The matter is coming up for discussion at Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council, when a resolution will be brought down to ask the architect to provide plans and estimates on the lines suggested.
