RIFLE SHOOTING.

The opening shoot of the Foxton Defence Rifle Club took place on Saturday with a practice match at 200 yards. There, was a heavy southerly wind blowing and an ov-er-easi sky. Rain fell as soon as the shooting started, which doubtless, accounted for the poor scores, which werg as follows: — E. Fergusson 4(i, H. Hamer 44, A. Barnard 42, A. J. Johnston 42, President Head. 42, G. Cull 41, W. Symons 41, G. T. Hartley 38, S. C. Shader 37, Cadet Head 26, Cadet Shaw 24, Cadet Walsh 22, Cadet Admore 19, Cadet Delany 21. Next Saturday another practice will he held at 300 yards.
