TRAIN AND MOTOR CAR.

Rotorua, Yesterday, At 3.15 o'clock yesterday afternoon the RHoriin express collided with a motor car at a crossing two miles east of Matamata, throwing the car twenty yards and smashing it. Two people were in the car. The driver, Air Dave Morrow, of Matamata, was killed, and Air W. Crowther, secretary of the Auckland City Sinking Ennd Commission, rendered nnconseions. The latter suffered shock and severe abrasions, and was taken to a private hospital. lie is considered to he out of danger.
The engine whistled continuously, but the occupants of the car appeared not to hear and took no notice. The train was running at an average speed of 30 miles .tin hour.
