PRESBYTERIAN TENNIS CLUB.
A meeting of members and nrtkerents of the Presbyterian Church was held in the night, presided over by the Rev. F. McDonald, for the purpose of dismissing the formation of a tennis ( lull in connection with the social life of the church. It was pointed out that there was sufficient ground for the purpose of grass courts adjoining the church, measurements of which had been taken and were submitted lo the meeting. It was decided to form a club, to he called the Presbyterian Tennis Club. Officers were elected as follows: President, Rev. F. McDonald; vice-presidents, Messrs Win. Ross Jim. Ross. K. Ilornblow, R. Rangiheuea, D, \Y. Robertson. M. E. Perroau, Robert Spoil's, and Thorpe; secretary and treasurer, Mr Davidson; commit lee; Messrs 11. llorillilow, Simpson, McLaren, Downes, G. Perreau, 11. Read, Misses .1. Ross, Beard and Edwards, Mesdames McDonald and Hornblow, with power to add. The subscriptions were fixed at 10s for men and 5s for ladies, and to restrict membership to members and adherents, and to avoid clashing with the interests of the local public club. The question of croquet was introduced, and it was decided to hold this over. It was decided to hold a working bee at an early date to prepare the ground and erect wire netting.
