BOWLING.
A meeting of Committee of the Foxton Bowling Club was held on Friday evening last. The resignation of Dr. Richmond Hooper as an honorary member was—received. Correspondence dealing with the Stevenson Pennants and Holder Cup was read, and it was decided to accord a vote of ,thanks to the donors of these trophies for their consent to the disposal of same by competition during the current season. The conditions of competition to govern the disposal of the Stevenson Pennants were decided on as follows: — Pairs handicap; Three games of 21 heads. Competition to be decided by games won. In the event of a tye, tyes to he played off. Handicaps to he declared ater entries are closed. Skips and leads to he decided by the club handicapper. The three draws to be completed simultaneously. The competition to he completed by November 30th. Each pair shall play their game within seven days from date of notice by opposing skip, otherwise lose by default. Entrance fee, 2/0 per player. The Pennants become the property of the winning pair. The advisability of securing a wooden base for the Wilford Cup, with silver shields attached, for the purpose of engraving the names of successive winners thereon, was considered, and it was decided to leave the matter of securing same in the hands of the President and Secretary, with power to act. It was decided to again hold a handicap pairs tourney on the green on Labour Day, and the following conditions were set down to govern same. —Play to commence at 9.30 a.m. First players to arrive on the green to have preference in draw. Draw to take place at 9.15 a.m.' Skips and leads to be decided by handieapper. Pairs to be drawn. Players will retain partners throughout the competition. Winning -pairs to move to next rink. Three games of 21 heads to be played, winners to be decided on aggregate points plus handicaps. Prizes to be as follows: 60,per cent, to winning pair, 30 per cent, to run-ners-up, and 10 per cent, to refreshments fund. Entrance fee, 2/6 per player. ✓The conditions governing the Wilfurd Cnp competition will be the same as last year. Entries should now be placed with the secretary for both the Stevenson Pennants and Wilford Cup competitions.
