PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD. Mr R. Edwards submitted plan: and specifications at last night’. Borough Council meeting for a pub lie swimming' baths to he constructed on the river bank. The'plans were fully discussed and it was finally decided that Mr Edwards’ plan for swimming bath on the river bank be revised an 1 that the width of (he baths he reduced from 3b feet to 30 feet; tha.l steps he taken to take ,a poll of the ratepayers on a proposal to raise a loan of £I,OOO for the purpose at a rate of interest not exceeding li per cent, per amyim, for a term of 10 years with a sinking fund of one per cent., the loan to lie secured hv a special rate of 11-0 Id in the £ the first year's interest and cost of raising loan to be paid out of the loan monies. That a public meeting be convened to place details of l.he proposal before the ratepayers. Revised estimates fo be submitted to the water and drainage commit(W for nnproval at The earliest moment possible.
