NIGHTWATCHMAN.
Mr -T. Wyeth waited on the Chamber of Commerce meeting on Thursday night in connection with his duties ns nightwatclnnan and in connection with remuneration for such work. The Chamber decided to give Mr Wyeth every assistance possible, as they considered “prevention was better than cure.” It was decided to thank the following, who subscribe a small ainonnt weekly in order that Foxton may he kept free of nocturnal prowlers, etc. — Messrs Barr and Tyer, D. W. Robertson and Co. Ltd., Thorpe and Tongs, C. M. Ross Co. Ltd., E. Ball, Oliver, Bryant (2), Rider, Co-op., Hudson, Ilamer, McColl, Whyte’s Hotel, Manawatu Hotel, P. J. Jack, Simmons, Manawatu Herald, Admore, 11. Osborne, Healey, Perreau Smith, Bauckham, Walls, and the Fox ton Motor and Engineering Co.
