HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. • The High Commissioner’s 1 cable, dated the 29th ultimo., reads: “Hemp Manila market, easier for shipments near at hand, but better demand for distant shipments. ‘O’ grade, Oetober-Deeemlier shipments, now quoted at £3i> 10/-; ‘J’ grade, Septomber-Oetober shipments sold up to £3l 5/-; OcloberDeoemhor shipments now quoted at £3l 10/-. Output of Manila hemp from Ist January to 31st August, 1.0(13,009 hales against 777,0(10 for same period last. year. Stocks in Manila at 3.lst August, 172,000 bales, against 187,000 for same time last year. Stocks in Great Britain 22,91)7 against 10,003 last year. New Zealand market unchanged, with highpoints spot offered at £3l 10/-, without business. Nominal values for forward shipments highpoints £3l to £3l 10/-, fair £3O.
