BOWLING.

To-morrow afternoon a special endeavour will be made to put the local green in order for the coming season. This will entail a good uoal of labour, and in addition to the green-keeper being employed during the intervening days, it. is necessary that the work of preparation should reach a certain stage immediately. To this end it is requested that members be in attendance to-morrow, when a “bee” will commence at 1.30 p.m. The finances of the Club do not allow of a greenkeeper being employed beyond a certain restricted period each year, and hence a good deal of labour usually falls on a few willing workers, but it is hoped that in the future members generally will lend assistance in a cause which is as much a benefit to one as to another.
