JULY WORKING
The amount of gas manufactured during the month of July was 538500 ft., which with the amount in the holder on July Ist., 16,400 ft., made a total of 554,900 ft. During the month 435,200 ft. was used by consumers, 28,500 ft. in street lamps, 29,500 ft. at the works and there was 17,600 ft. in the holder on August Ist., making a total of 510,500 ft., and leaving 44,100 ft., representing 7.8 per cent., unaccounted for. Forty-six tons of coal were carbonised during the month, yielding 11,708 ft, to the ton. The earnings for the month totalled £363 7/1 and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £122 10/-, heat and power £llß 2s 6d, coke sales £59 8/11, tar sales £3 4/-, fittings £23 0/5, services £5 18/-, labour services 18/-, labour fittings £5 14/-, miscellaneous £24 11/3, a total of £363 7/1. The expenditure for the month totalled £343 1/11 and was made up as follows: —Coal £126 17/8, salaries and wages £63 5/11, services £2 9/6, fittings £33 2/6, working expenses 14/9, printing and advertising 7/-, engine repair oil, 3/-, repairs £8 4/6, cartage and freight £lO 0/7, house £34 3/-, meter (new) £3 17/5, sundries 4/5, Interest and Sinking Fund £59 11/8, a total of £343 1/11. The manager reported as follows: “All the apparatus is in good order and working Cjiiito satisfactorily. The work outside has been done as required and several services had to be cleared owing to blockages. The surplus supply of coke has been sold. There is three months’ supply of coal on hand.” —Adopted.
