AUCKLAND BURGLARIES

Auckland, August 27

Safe-breakers have been at work at the premises of the Auckland Bottle Co., Ltd., Stanley Street. On Thursday night an attempt was made to blow open a safe with explosives. A shot had been fired, but it was not successful in bursting the safe open, although considerable damage was done to it. Nothing is reported ns missing from the premises. The warehouse of 11. E. Partridge and Co. was burglariously entered, and the outer and inner safes were broken open. A quantity of cash and some cheques were stolen.
