FOXTON TENNIS CLUB

A meeting of members of the Foxton Tennis Club was held in the Town Hall on Thursday night, but owing to the number of players, mostly members of the Committee, who have recently left the district, the necessary quorum has been depleted, the meeting was therefore informal. Those present, however, decided to recommend the committee to hold the annual ball at the end of September. Various details were discussed, and arrangements made, subject to the sanction of Ihe official committee, which is to be re-formed immediately. In order to re-establish the committee a special general meeting will be necessary, and the secretary was instructed to call same, the business to include the arrangements for the ball. The following ladies who were present kindly offered their services in connection with the ball: Modames Head, Hcasman and Procter.

The rules of the Club set out 15 as a quorum for a special general meeting, and as a very large number of members are away, it will be necessary for every remaining member to make a special effort to attend the meeting and re-form the executive, without which all business must inevitably be postponed until the annual meeting of the Club.
