THE HICKSON MISSION.
INTERCESSION SERVICE,
On Wednesday afternoon (he Intercession Service for (lie Hickson Spiritual Healing Mission was. held in All Saints’ Church. After the first pari of the service, the Vicar invited (he Rev. F. McDonald to -peak on the work. Mr McDonald took as the basis of his remarks the text: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” He said many people were asking, “Did he believe in the Mission of Healing?” and his answer was “Decidedly ves.” He emphasised four points: (1) From the milnre and character of God, His wonderful Power, and His Infinite Love for mankind; (2) from the nature, of the miracles were thp signs of Divine Power, and were the witness and sign of the Presence of Jesus Christ in all His love and compassion for men in their sin and suffering; (3) Christ had promised His Disciples that they should do many things in His Name. The works of God should he made manifest through them. “Greater works shall ye do in My Name.” (4) The present, need of Ibe world in the midst of all the unrest and. turmoil to-day men are seeking and waiting for a manifestation of the Power of God to heal men, and Ibis Mission was one of the opportunities of the Christian Church to revive in their midst the Gift of Healing which was given to them, and has been shown all down the ages by men so spiritually minded. He added that we need an awakening epoch of our spiritual privileges, and the world will turn to Christ for healing power, the healing of soul and body. After the special prayers used for Mr Hickson’s Mission in Palmerston North, the -Vicar explained certain matters in reference to the preparation. Cards are distributed for those desiring to go to (lie Mission. Application for cards must be made to the minister of each church, who will obtain cards from flic Vicar.' Mr Hickson will not attend any sick person unless they have a card, and admission to (be church can not lie gained without a card. The attendance on Wednesdays is increasing in an encouraging manner.
