HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

A meeting of the Foxton Horticultural Society’s general committee was held last night, the Rev. W. H. Walton presiding over a good attendance. Mr Perreau was elected to a vacancy on the committee. The schedule for the bulb show to be held on September 7th, was gone into and adopted. In order to reduce the cost of printing, it was decided to obtain advertisements for the show catalogue and Mr C. Symons was appointed to arrange this matter.

Judges for the various sections were appointed, subject to their consent. The matter of an open class in the cottage garden section for the summer show was fully discussed. Prizes for this section have been donated by the Mayor (Mr J. Chrystall) and the Rev. W. Walton. It was decided that the president should try to arrange for items by the school children to he given on the night of the show.
