STATE ADVANCES BILL
Wellington, Last Night. Unqualified praise was accorded the State Advances Amendment Bill when it came before the Legislative Council to-day. The Hon. J. Parr said no more liberal measure had ever been brought before Parliament. This sentiment was echoed by the lions. Mitchel, Garland and Earnshaw. Several speakers suggested that it would be a good thing if workers could make payments monthly or fortnightly instead of every six months, and Sir Francis Bell said this option already existed. The Bill was then read a second time.
